Waterfowl hunting contributed $19.6 billion to U.S. GDP in 20221 — yet there is no purpose-built platform for the clubs, leases, and outfitters that organize the sport. WaterfowlAI is building it.

The Opportunity

Approximately one million Americans hunt waterfowl each season.2 The sport contributed $19.6 billion to U.S. GDP and supported 183,000+ jobs in 2022.1 Guided hunts run $250–$350/day, club memberships range from hundreds to tens of thousands per year, and outfitter packages exceed $1,500 per trip.

Yet there is no purpose-built software for the clubs, leases, and outfitters that organize the majority of hunts. Operations run on group texts, paper logs, and Venmo requests. The largest hunting tech company — onX Hunt, which raised $87.4M in Series B funding3 — serves maps and navigation. Nobody has built the operational backbone: member management, blind scheduling, harvest tracking, and embedded payments.

WaterfowlAI is building that platform. And every hunt logged generates conservation-grade species, location, and weather data — creating a data asset that compounds with every season.

All adoption to date has been organic — word-of-mouth within hunting clubs, zero paid acquisition. Every hunt logged builds a compounding data asset that no competitor can replicate without the same operational footprint.

Our Products

  • BlindBook™ — Hunting club management platform. Log hunts, track harvest data, manage blinds and zones, coordinate with club members. The core engagement engine.
  • WingID™ — AI-powered species identification from wing photos. Free, ungated viral hook that brings hunters into the ecosystem and generates training data for our models.
  • TerraWing™ — Conservation intelligence dashboard for wildlife agencies and researchers. Aggregated, anonymized field data for population monitoring and habitat management.

How It Works

WaterfowlAI generates revenue through three layers — each one creating more value for the hunting and conservation communities we serve:

  • Individual Hunters — Free AI-powered species identification and basic hunt logging. Premium subscriptions unlock advanced analytics, historical data, and the full digital hunting journal.
  • Clubs & Outfitters — Operational tools for hunting clubs and outfitters: member management, blind scheduling, zone tracking, shared harvest data, and integrated booking payments.
  • Conservation & Research Partnerships — Aggregated, anonymized harvest data for wildlife agencies, universities, and conservation organizations. Hunters generate high-resolution species, location, and weather data every time they log a hunt — the same data state and federal agencies spend millions collecting through manual surveys.

Conservation & Research Value

Hunting is the primary funding mechanism for American wildlife conservation. The Pittman-Robertson Act has generated over $17 billion for habitat and species management since 1937,4 with $1.3 billion apportioned for FY2025 alone.5But the data infrastructure hasn't kept pace — most harvest reporting still relies on voluntary mail-in surveys with 18–21% response rates.6

WaterfowlAI changes that. Every hunt logged on BlindBook™ generates real-time, geo-tagged harvest data — species composition, sex ratios, weather conditions, temporal patterns — at a resolution manual surveys can't match. As participation grows, this becomes a living dataset for population monitoring, migration tracking, and habitat management decisions.

The Duck Stamp Modernization Act (2023) signals federal appetite for digital tools in the hunting ecosystem, and advances in computer vision now make field-level species identification genuinely practical. The pieces are converging.
